Floating docks are permitted at private residences and the marina subject to approval of the approving authority. The following specific criteria and requirements apply…
- Floating docks with 6-sided float sections, filled with approved floatation material or Closed Heavy Gauge Synthetic floats will be considered.
- Sections may be connected with timber or Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) walers which may serve as fender support for vessel.
- Floating docks shall be designed to float in a level plane and shall be anchored in place with concrete, Eco piles, other synthetic or jacketed pilings. No external anchor system will be considered as a substitute for piling (e.g.: cable to shore, bottom anchor cable/chains).
- Piles shall be of sufficient section and length to withstand forces anticipated from vessel and wind loads. Piling material shall be either concrete, Eco piles, other synthetic or jacketed pilings.Aluminium or Galvanized steel framed floating docks will be considered.
- Encasement of floats shall be Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) or similar material and be subject to approval by the Marina and Harbor Committee (MHC) and ARB.
- The approving authority reserves the right to require manufacturer material certification and evidence of prior performance.
Note: In no case will timber framing over plastic drum floats or similar methods and materials be considered. |
