Policy
  • Lifts at private residences are permitted subject to approval of the approving authority.  Lifts are intended for installation on the inside of the main dock and may not extend beyond the end of the main dock.
  • In cases where a dock is mounted against a bulkhead, installation on the exterior face of a bulkhead may be considered if the approving authority determines that such installation does not limit safe navigation or limit maneuverability by vessels in the waterway.
  • The lift mechanism including pilings and other support structure, must not appear above the horizontal surface of the primary dock.
  • Small vessel lifts including kayak, Canoe, and paddle board racks (See Rack Sample) and floating lifts are designated for vessels 12.5 feet or less in length and must conform to approved design. These lifts may only be installed behind a dock and never on the front or ends of the dock. The vessel and the lift must not extend past the end of the dock.

Note:  Lifts will not be considered for installation at the Marina.
