Recommended Plant Material
Policy
 Minor landscape renovation are changes affecting less 25 percent of existing landscaping.

  • Incremental changes to aesthetically enhance the overall appearance of the landscape or substitute plant materials to compensate for existing sun, shade, soil or other adverse conditions do not require prior ARB approval.
  • Minor landscape renovation that is not Incremental changes requires ARB approval.
Maintenance
 Any plant material including ornamental trees which die or become unsightly over time must be replaced by the property owner in a timely manner. Foundation shrubs must be kept pruned and beds maintained free of weeds and vines.
What to submit
 Property owners submit these documents to the ARB for approval…

  1. Architectural Review Application (QHFORM 5000/1).
  2. checks for the review fee, CIF and deposit.  See QHRRP 5000-020 (Schedule of Fees).
  3. scaled drawing on land survey must include the following: location of all remaining landscaping and all new planting (trees, shrubs, beds) with names, sizes, and quantities.
  4. a plant schedule showing plant type, size, height and spacing.
