Florida Statute 720.3045

Policy
Standby (also known as permanently installed or whole-home) generators are permanently installed outside your home and are designed to automatically activate during power outages, providing seamless backup power.  These generators are not prohibited nor discouraged.

Note:  Per Florida Statute 720.3045, owners and their tenants may install, display, or store any items on a parcel which are not visible from the parcel’s frontage or an adjacent parcel, including, but not limited to, artificial turf, boats, flags, vegetable gardens, clotheslines, and recreational vehicles.

What to submit
Property owners submit these documents to the ARB for approval…

  1. Architectural Review Application (QHFORM 5000/1).
  2. checks for the review fee, CIF and deposit.  See QHRRP 5000-020 (Schedule of Fees).
  3. brochure or picture of proposed generator.
  4. picture of the proposed location of generator on the property.
  5.  scaled survey showing location of generator and location of buried propane tank.

Note:  Generator must have a service wall tall enough and large enough to accommodate the generator.  See QHRRP 5000-200 (Service Areas).
