Construction Activity Limitations

Definitions
Construction Activities means any activity related to the preparation of a site, assembly, erection, substantial repair, alteration, demolition, or similar action for or within private rights-of-way, structures, utilities, or similar properties by a service contractor.

Service Contractor means an entity or person under contract to provide specific services or functions.

Policy
All construction activity must be performed within the boundaries of the lot being constructed, except driveways where they cross the right of way which is permitted.

Neighboring lots must not be used for construction access, storage of building materials, debris storage and parking, etc. without the property owner’s permission.  Equipment, trailers, or vehicles left on any lots or construction sites overnight will be subject to fines and may be towed without notice.

Except in emergency situations, construction and service contractors are only permitted on Queen’s Harbour property in his/her official capacity in accordance with QHRRP 3000-130 (Service Contractors).  Additionally, construction and service contractors must also comply with QHRRP 3000-090 (Noise and Nuisances).

Note:  Emergencies are defined as life threatening situations, utility emergencies or those incurring significant property damage to adjoining properties or those that will pose a danger to the affected properties (such as sink holes).
