At marina
 Drive on docks at the marina are permitted subject to approval of the approving authority.  A drive on dock…

  • must be installed adjacent to a finger pier. The dock and boat, including the motor(s), shall not extend beyond the finger pier.
  • shall be either black, tan or gray in color.
  • approval will be based on review of materials and of the written installation plan.  The installing contractor will provide proof of insurance as protection for marina property and residents’ vessels.
  • shall be removed prior to terminating the lease.  See QHRRP 6000-030 (Marina Slip Rental Agreement Termination).
At private residence
 Drive on docks at private residences are permitted subject to approval of the approving authority.  Drive on Docks are intended for installation on the inside of the main dock and may not extend beyond the end of the main dock.

In cases where a dock is mounted against a bulkhead, installation on the exterior face of a bulkhead may be considered if the approving authority determines that such installation does not limit safe navigation or limit maneuverability by vessels in the waterway.

  1. Dock, Lift, Piling and Bulkhead Application & Permit (QHFORM 5000/4).
  2. checks for the review fee, CIF and deposit.  See QHRRP 5000-020 (Schedule of Fees).
  3. scaled land survey showing location of the proposed drive on dock with dimensions.
