Mailboxes
All installed mailboxes shall conform to these specifications…

Post White vinyl/polymer 4 x 4 post with cross arm, (or wood 4×4 covered in white vinyl) along with an American Gothic style top cap and flat caps on the sides.

The top edge of the cross-arm shall be positioned 14 inches from the top of the post and 36 inches from the bottom of the base.  The cross-arm shall extend 16 inches and 4-1/2 inches from the post edge, respectively.

Note:  Standard black mailboxes of aluminium or steel construction with the Postmaster General’s (PMG) seal of approval, in The Island at Queen’s Harbour are required to be installed to exterior gas streetlights.  See The Island at Queen’s Harbour (Unit 24) (QHRRP 5000-030).

Address Address numbers to be 2-inch black vinyl, Helvetica medium style.  Placement to be centered on cross arm.

Note:  Address numbers in The Island at Queen’s Harbour (Unit 24) are to be 2-inch white vinyl, Helvetica medium style.  Placement to be centered on the bottom of right side of the mailbox.

Box Box shall be a standard medium black mailbox made of aluminium or steel construction with the Postmaster General’s (PMG) seal of approval.

 

Box shall be mounted to the cross arm. Mounting screws shall be touched-up with black paint.

Installation Post shall be no more than 24 inches below grade with a height of 41” to 45” inches from the road surface. Place your mailbox 6″ to 8″ back from the curb.  Post shall be installed level and true.

 

An area at least 6 inches outside the post should be maintained in mulch or plants to keep wire grass trimmers from ripping into the post.
