The Association may issue a Request for Information (RFI) to secure information, data, comments, or reactions from potential Suppliers about state-of-the-art technology, designs or technical literature related to products, systems, technologies, or services.
The Association evaluates such information to determine which product, system, or technology should be identified in a future solicitation, typically a Request for Proposal (RFP). This method is commonly used as a research tool to obtain the latest industry information and to assist the Association in determining the most appropriate technology, products or services for its intended application. No contracts are awarded via this process. In cases where there exists no intention to place an order, a request to produce estimates should not be made to potential suppliers without disclosing that the request is for information purposes only. |
