Nominating committee
The nominating committee is appointed by the Board of Directors at least seventy-five (75) days prior to the date of the Annual Member Meeting and is tasked to solicit and nominate qualified candidates to serve as directors.

Per Florida Statute 720.306(9)(a) and Bylaws, Section IV(3)(b), all members of the association are eligible, if qualified to serve on the board of directors.

Within forty-five (45) days prior to the date of the Annual Member Meeting, the Nominating committee shall notify the Secretary of the names of the candidates nominated, including those self-nominated, for election to the Board of Directors.   Nominations from the floor at the Annual Member Meeting will not be accepted.

Note:  An election is not required unless more candidates are nominated than vacancies exist.

Qualification
Any member may be nominated and serve as a director provided, he or she …

  • is not delinquent in the payment of any fee, fine, or other monetary obligation to the association.
  • has not been convicted of any felony in Florida or in a United States District or Territorial Court or has not been convicted of any offense in another jurisdiction which would be considered a felony if committed in Florida, unless such felon’s civil rights have been restored for at least 5 years as of the date on which he or she seeks election to the board.
  • has submitted a Director & Committee Member Application (QHFORM 8000/1).
