Policy
Non-resident swim team memberships are for the sole purpose of augmenting Queen’s Harbour swim teams to provide enough swimmer at the needed skill levels.  This allows residents the opportunity to participate in competitive team/league play where they otherwise would not be able to because of an insufficient number of swimmers.
Requirement
Only those children who sign up for the teams will be considered members and will have access to the pool during swim team events.
Number of memberships
The number of non-resident memberships shall not exceed the number of residents participating in competitive team/league play
Duration and renewal
Duration – Non-resident membership shall be annual and shall require payment of annual membership fees as set by the Board of Directors, at least one month in advance of the season. A notice will be sent if fees are 30 days delinquent. At 60 days, membership will be terminated, and the account will be referred to a collection agency.

Renewal – Renewal is not guaranteed.  Non-resident membership needs shall be reviewed annually considering the total number of non-resident participants required to support competitive team/league play. Priority for membership renewal shall be given to non-resident members whose skill levels best meet the needs of the competitive team structure. Any review of non-resident memberships shall be conducted by the  swim coach and if need be by the QH Amenities Board member.

Cost
Fee structure is determined by the BOD and is subject to change without notice.
Controls
In addition to the guidelines above, non-resident swim team memberships are subject to the following…

  • Each league team must have a captain and a co-captain. A resident member must be active in the role as either the captain or the co-captain.
  • At least 50% of the total Queen’s Harbour competitive swim team program participants must be residents.  The number of non-resident members on a specific team may exceed 50% only if after review of that team’s circumstances.  Non-resident members are not entitled to use any of the Queen’s Harbour Community Center amenities other than the swimming pool facilities and programs. The use of the pool is limited to swim team events only.
