Property owners, who have a dock at their residential property and a vessel which exceeds the maximum length of the dock configuration, may, for the purpose of cleaning, waxing or provisioning, temporarily bring their vessel to their dock for a specified period of time per the following conditions…
- Movement of the vessel to the dock must be approved by the Harbormaster in advance.
- The vessel can be navigated safely to the dock and mooring at the dock does not impede the safe navigation of other vessels in the Harbor.
- The vessel can be safely moored to the dock as determine by and at the sole discretion of the Harbormaster, considering the differential in length of the vessel/dock, and the prevailing weather conditions. A vessel longer than the dock configuration shall be positioned on the dock with the minimum overhang possible. Only the dock configuration and set back requirements are waived for Temporary Dockage; the vessel must fit within the property lines as extended into the Harbor.
- The vessel normally may not be moored at the dock for more than 24 hours, but for an extenuating circumstance an extension of up to 24 additional hours (48 hours total) may be granted by the Harbormaster at his sole discretion.
- The instances of temporary dockage of a non-conforming vessel at the owner’s dock are not expected to exceed 12 instances per year. A “single instance” is the opportunity to provision and de-provision a vessel.
