Introduction: Adapter Use |
To ensure safe electrical connections at the marina, boaters wishing to use 15/20 Amp power cords must utilize a pigtail adapter equipped with a GFCI-protected 15 Amp outlet when connecting to the marina’s 30 Amp outlets. |
Hazards and Rationale |
This safety measure is mandated due to the significant fire and electrocution hazards posed by standard 30 Amp to 15 Amp adapters. These adapters violate the National Electric Code. See QHRRP 6000-295 (Walkway and Pier Safety and Security) concerning securing electrical cables. |
Specific Requirement |
Boaters wishing to use 15/20 Amp power cords must utilize a pigtail adapter equipped with a GFCI-protected 15 Amp outlet when connecting to the marina’s 30 Amp outlets to ensure safe electrical connections. |
