Florida Statute 720.3035

Policy
Permanent storm protection systems are permitted subject to approval of the ARB.  Permanently installed storm protection systems and any attaching frames shall be either the color of the trim or body of the house and compatible with the house itself.

Note:  Temporary storm protection systems may be installed without ARB approval if the National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm or hurricane warning for the Jacksonville, FL area.  Temporary storm protection systems must be removed no later than seven (7) days after the warning is withdrawn.

What to submit
Property owners submit these documents to the ARB for approval…

  1. Architectural Review Application (QHFORM 5000/1).
  2. checks for the review fee, CIF and deposit.  See QHRRP 5000-020 (Schedule of Fees).
  3. picture of the home, showing locations of hurricane protection devices.
  4. brochure or picture of proposed device, including color.
